A LITTLE INFORMATION ABOUT LAYTON RUSE AND FAMILY:
I was born in Bucyrus, Ohio and moved to Miami at the age of six. Attended school here and met my wife Virginia Mae, who has put up with me for 63years. Virginia Mae, a native Miamian, is a homemaker and plays the Wurlitzer organ. Our son Gary is an accomplished author, artist, and has many other talents. He bails me out when I make boo boos on my computer!
Some of my jobs have been as a Police Photographer; background artist on "Popeye" cartoons; radio operator, mechanic, and gunner on heavy bombers in World War II; and many years with Dictaphone Corporation, as technician and then as District Service Manager.
I have been Net Control on the Intercontinental Traffic Net, Hurricane Watch Net, Maritime Mobile and Coast Guard Nets since the early days of these nets. I have made many friends on the air, for which I'm thankful. Rest of the family is an 18 pound male cat named Shadow, who adopted us after our much loved female cat, Tiger, passed away.
